Patricia Alves is an actress, model, author, and creative director. Patrica has been apart of some great film, tv and radio productions! She currently has some amazing acting projects in the works also a new book titled Becoming Your Soul Self-Guided by God. Read our exclusive interview below with Actress Patricia Alves:
Q: Where are you originally from and where are you located now on the map?
Patricia Alves – A: Shout out to my hometown born and raised in Historic New Bedford, Massachusetts where you can find the best clam chowder bowl. yum* I totally can go for some now. I reside in New Jersey but, LA has been calling my name for a little while now.
Q: Patricia, you are an actress rising in the film industry with some great new roles! You’ve also had a background of experience starting off in modeling as well as an impressive education to the business side of the entertainment industry with your degree in Communications leading you to work with a top PR company for New York’s Fashion Week. What would you say motivates you and inspires you to be the best at your profession and do you have a top 3 favorite actors, filmmakers, or directors that you want to work within the business?
Patricia Alves – A: This is a great question! I have always been inspired to do good, set my mind to something, and accomplish it. When it came to my profession, it was different cause I didn’t want to do just good I wanted to do great and be great being seen for the love and passion that can resonate with other people in reality.
What really inspired me more was after reading The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz an agreement he mentions is to ALWAYS do your best no matter the circumstance. It made me look back at everything I’ve accomplished and I’m like nodding to myself “yeah. cool. good. but now do your best this day forward. 3 people, I’d like to work with? o-uuu this is a little tough but one person is definitely Jada Pinkett Smith there is just something about her essence that I really love and how she is very petite but very fierce. Oprah Winfrey for sure, that is my Aquarius sister and deep down I know we would connect and I’d learn so much personally and business-wise. Then I have to say, Steven Spielberg. I was on a twelve-day set for West Side Story as a background and he just seemed so pleasant and fun to really work with. Watching him in his element really motivated me and I told myself that I’ll be working with him again but as a lead. soon soon.
Q: As an actress what kind of films are you most interested in booking? What would you say is your fav genre( Drama, Comedy, Action, a little bit of all)?
Patricia Alves – A: As an Actor, I really am intrigued by period pieces. however, I pray to book all types of films I want to play every type of role that my mind and body allow me to. Acting is what gives me LIFE. Like, can’t breathe without it.. brings me to a place of escape from myself to myself if that makes any sense, but what I do tend to book as of now, is a lot of drama, the protagonist roles, the victim roles.
I believe that’s where a lot of my trained focus was so, I can easily become a character of that nature. Which is totally different from my persona ’cause I’m the happy, loving, most upbeat person. and, my favorite genre… to play as an actor or generally to watch? cause to watch I’m definitely a sappy romantic tear falling down my face girl.
Q: Can you share with us something people may not know about you? Any hobbies or other secret talents you have and or like to do in your spare time aside from acting?
Patricia Alves – A: I am a low key rapper with one-liner’s or two. haha. no, seriously I am though… my ego comes out. buttttt, What people may not know about me is I’m Cape Verdean 4’11 but look 5’8 on camera, I’m very sentimental and passionate about life and want to heal the world, I’m very family-oriented. I wrote a book Becoming Your Soul Self Guided by God knowing that we cannot become ourselves by ourselves. My book is a daily devotional to keep you focused, disciplined, and give you strength by faithfully guiding you to who you truly are. I’m super adventurous and ready to go and explore the world. I can also hear people’s thoughts.
Q: What are some projects you’ve just wrapped up or that you’re currently working on now?
Patricia Alves – A: I wrapped on a film called The Fearless Two which is now streaming free on Tubi Tv. check me out there as the character Kimberley. I have been working on a lot of voiceovers. I even invested in a bunch of home equipment to set up in my thinking room so that I’ll be able to master doing commercial voiceover, narration for audible, and animation is a goal that I am now targeting. I’m building my name as a creative director working on projects for films, brands, and small businesses. I’ve also been working on building my legacy and have a lot of masterpieces coming. So, I’m really excited about that.
