Exclusive: Bringing The Action on Set – Get To Know Rising Star Actor Jamie Humphrey!

Jamie Humphrey is an actor, director, and writer.. Discovered by esteemed casting director Rupsa Banjree, Jamie was originally cast for a small part in the film Anusandhan, but ended up landing a speaking role on the very day of filming. That experience opened doors, including a major role in Swastik Sanket, where Jamie impressed the directors with a powerful audition for the character of Richard. From there, their momentum only grew.

Jamie has since built an impressive résumé, appearing in major productions like Gangs of London Season 2, Marvel’s Secret Invasion, and taking on diverse roles across Bollywood, Tamil, and Bengali films. Notable performances include Lornenzo in Gangs of Soho and John in Caught in Between, as well as co-writing the screenplay for Mafia is Calling. With upcoming roles in The Lost Ship and the Hollywood feature 14 Knots, Jamie’s star continues to rise in the film industry. Q: Where are you originally from and where are you based now?

Jamie Humphrey – A: I’m currently based in Kent, and I was raised in Kent as well.

Q: As a rising and award-winning actor in the industry, what motivates and inspires you to be the best at acting? Do you have any all-time favorite directors or other industry pros you’d most like to work with?

Jamie Humphrey – A:  What motivates me is wanting to be the best possible version of myself. What inspires me most are my children — they push me to never give up and to keep striving for more. I have loads of favorite directors! Nick Nevern, for example, from Rise of the Footsoldier. Sayantan Ghosal — I’ve worked on most of my films with him, and he’s one of the best in the Indian film industry. Also, Luke Mayers, who directed A Brother’s Bond, where I had a great role.
As for people I’d love to work with — definitely Mark Wahlberg, Denzel Washington, and Emilio Rivera.

Q: What are your favorite genre roles to act in?

Jamie Humphrey – A:  I love playing the bad guy roles — they’re always the most fun and challenging.

Q: Can you share what projects you’re working on right now or have coming up?

Jamie Humphrey – A:  At the moment, I can’t share any details about upcoming projects — but stay tuned!

Q: What hobbies or other talents do you have or like to do in your spare time?

Jamie Humphrey – A: In my spare time, I enjoy watching films and studying characters — always trying to learn and grow in my craft.
