Q: Where are you originally from and where are you based now?

El hadji Mboup – A: I am originally from New Jersey and am currently based in New Jersey as well, not too far from New York City.

Q: Rising in the industry, what motivates and inspires you to be the best at your profession in acting, and do you have a top 3 favorite actors, filmmakers, or directors that you want to work with in the business?

El hadji Mboup – A: As an actor, my motivation comes from the comic books I read, mainly Marvel comics, and films I watch on a daily basis, like MCU, DCU, action films, and horror films. I grew up with lots of superheroes in my life, with Spider-Man (Miles Morales) being my main inspiration — a Black Spider-Man, a hero I can look up to, a hero I can relate to, one who looks like me both internally and externally. The Spider-Verse films speak volumes when it comes to motivating me. Also, classics like the Rush Hour films, comedies, and many other films. Coming from a background where filming and cameras are everywhere, I kind of spiraled into someone who loves telling stories through film and becoming the character when cameras are rolling.
My top 3 favorite actors are:

  1. Tom Holland — seeing his amazing performance as Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War inspired me to become an actor. I would love to work with him someday.
  2. Jackie Chan — he was one of the first actors to have an impact on me with his action. I grew up watching lots of Jackie Chan films, mimicking his action scenes, which allowed me to become more flexible and capable of doing stunts, flips, and choreography.
  3. Ryan Coogler — he inspires me through his amazing films and storytelling, like CreedBlack PantherEyes of Wakanda, and many more.
