Hari Bhaskar is a rising actor known for starring in both TV, film, and theater. We recently had an interview with Hari Bhaskar, where he confirmed with us his latest film projects and more! Read below our exclusive Q&A with actor Hari Bhaskar!
Q: Where are you originally from and where are you based now?
Hari Bhaskar – A: I am originally from the southern state of Kerala in India, and I currently reside in New York City.
Q: As a rising actor in the industry, what motivates and inspires you to be the best at your profession in acting, and do you have a top 3 favorite actors, filmmakers, or directors that you want to work with in the business?
Hari Bhaskar – A: What motivates me to be the best is that I want to be able to effectively communicate the story as well as the arc of the character in the best manner possible. That inevitably makes me perform at my best. My favorite actor is the Malayalam (the language spoken in Kerala, India) actor Fahad Fazil, and directors that I want to work with include the Hindi language directors such as Vishal Bharadwaj and English language directors such as Christoper Nolan and Denis Villeneuve, to name a few.
Q: What is your favorite genre in roles you play (Drama, Comedy, Action, Thriller, a little bit of all)?
Hari Bhaskar – A: I honestly like all genres, though comedy is my strong suit. But I’ve always wanted to play a completely negative character with no redeeming qualities. Just a complete bad-ass!
Q: Can you share with us something people may not know about you? Any hobbies or other talents you have and/or like to do in your spare time?
Hari Bhaskar – A: I don’t think a lot of my friends in the US know how much I love the sport of cricket. I follow it religiously. At one point in time, I really wanted to become a cricketer.
Q: What are some projects that you’ve just wrapped up recently or that you’re currently working on?
Hari Bhaskar – A: I did a feature film at the start of the year called ‘The Dummy Detective’, directed by Rob Margolies and starring Sean Young and Deborah Twiss, and right now, I’m working on a play called ‘Oud Player On The Tel’, which will open at the HERE Arts Center in Manhattan on November 8th and run till the 24th.
