Nabil Thouri is a rising actor in the Hollywood film industry. Nabil graduated from the prestigious American Academy of Dramatic Arts Hollywood, known for their alumni of some of the most legendary actors in the film industry. Nabil is known for his roles in “Vicy V,” “Blood Behind Us,” “Boys of La Brea,” and “Art of Disaster.”. Read below our exclusive Q & A with Nabil to find out the latest news on his upcoming film projects and more!

Q: Where are you originally from and where are you located now on the map?

Nabil Thouri – A: I was born and raised in Montpellier, in the sunny south of France, where life tastes like fresh croissants and the Mediterranean breeze. My roots, though, run deep in Algeria (North Africa), thanks to both my parents, so I’ve got a mix of cultures in my blood. These days, you’ll find me in Los Angeles, California, Hollywood, to be exact. It’s a long way from Montpellier, but hey, the journey’s part of the story I guess.

Q:  As a rising actor, what motivates you and inspires you to be the best at your profession and what do you love most about acting?

Nabil Thouri – A: What I love most about acting is that it’s surprisingly therapeutic. Being able to step into someone else’s shoes helps me maintain a kind of mental balance, It’s like taking a break from me. Let’s be honest, sometimes we all need that, right? Acting lets me escape just enough so I don’t get sick of myself. That’s the real answer, and I’m sticking to it.

But beyond that, acting is endlessly versatile. Every project is a new adventure, and you get to experience sides of yourself or completely different lives you’d never touch in real life. It’s like a never-ending surprise, peeling back layers of yourself you didn’t even know were there. To me, it’s one of the most fulfilling ways to live, exploring every angle of who you are.

As for what inspires me, it’s life itself. Every tiny detail, every random moment, anything can spark something. Acting is one of the best forms of communication for that. You’re not just telling a story; you’re sharing a message, an emotion, something people can feel. It’s different from just saying how you feel; sometimes, you’ve got to show people to make them understand.

Acting can do anything, it entertains, provokes, connects, and even challenges society. Especially today, in a world where free speech and self-expression can feel complicated yet essential, acting remains a vital way to say things that need to be said. That’s why it’s so important for us in the industry to protect this art form. At its heart, acting is about communication, and the idea that a movie’s purpose is to move people, whether to laughter, tears, or thought, is just beautiful. That’s what keeps me going!

Q: Do you have a top 3 favorite actors, filmmakers, or directors that you’ve been most inspired by and want to work with in the business?

Nabil Thouri – A: I’m deeply inspired by actors who bring their unique charm and persona to every role, shaping it to fit the context of the film. For me, that’s what acting is all about, using what you have and adapting it to tell a story. Brad Pitt is a perfect example of this. His on-screen presence, versatility, and ability to jump between genres make him one of my all-time favorites.

Jake Gyllenhaal is right up there too. He’s incredibly charming, endlessly talented, and can literally play anything. And Ryan Gosling? Same deal. These three are my top-tier actors because they’re not only masters of their craft, but they also stay pretty private in real life, which I think is crucial in this business.

As for filmmakers, I’d love to work with Denis Villeneuve. His ability to create immersive universes and deeply engaging stories is incredible. The way his characters evolve within these worlds is just on another level. Collaborating on one of his projects would be a dream come true.

Q: What would you say is your fav genre in films( Drama, Comedy, Crime, Action, a little bit of all) ?

Nabil Thouri – A: First off, I want and will work very hard to try my hand at every genre as an actor, even the ones I don’t usually watch. There’s something fascinating about stepping into new territory and seeing if I have what it takes to be that kind of versatile actor.

But if I had to pick one genre that truly resonates with me, it would be psychological thrillers. There’s something so gripping about movies where the stakes are sky-high, and you’re constantly on edge, wondering how it’s all going to unfold. Take Prisoners, for example, every moment keeps you engaged and worried, pulling you deeper into the story. That kind of storytelling is some of the most powerful cinema out there, and I’d love to explore that as an actor.

Q: Can you share with us something people may not know about you? Any hobbies or other secret talents you have and or like to do in your spare time?

Nabil Thouri – A: Something people might not know about me is that I’m into a lot of different things, some of which tie into acting and some that don’t. For example, I love fashion, though I’d call myself more of a consumer than anything else. But the two big hobbies that really stand out are boxing and video games.

First off, I’ve been into boxing and combat sports my whole life. It might surprise people because, let’s face it, I don’t exactly look like a heavyweight champ, but trust me, I know how to throw a punch. I think this can be a real asset for my career, especially with how big action movies are these days. Plus, it keeps me in shape, so it’s a win-win.

Then there’s the gamer side of me. I’m a bit of a nerd and can’t go too long without diving into some RPGs. I get totally absorbed, identifying with the characters I play, almost like method acting for video games. Honestly, gaming feels so connected to acting. Modern games are basically playable movies, and as an actor, there’s so much to learn from them. It’d be a dream to work on a video game project one day. And considering how many games are being adapted for the big screen now, it all feels like one big creative circle.

Q: What are some projects that you’ve just wrapped up recently or that you’re currently working on now?

Nabil Thouri – A: I’ve been keeping pretty busy with a variety of projects, and there’s a lot happening on both sides, stuff I’ve recently wrapped up and things I’m currently working on.

The most recent project I finished was a short called “Malach” that tackles social misconceptions about different people and their religions, exploring how those misconceptions affect their lives. It’s a deep, beautiful piece that’s really close to my heart. On the other hand, I just finished another short called “Just Walking By” that’s completely different, a pure comedy with no agenda other than to make people laugh. I love how versatile my recent work has been, jumping from something meaningful to something purely entertaining.

Right now, I’m in the final stages for a pretty big action feature, but I don’t want to say too much until it’s locked in; I don’t want to jinx it! Beyond that, I’ve got a couple of shorts lined up and am also working on two medium-length movies with some friends. We’ve already collaborated on a couple of shorts that have done well, so now we’re stepping up to more ambitious projects. These are expected to come out later this year, and I’m really excited about them.

And of course, between all of this, I’m constantly auditioning and working on quick commercials, keeping the momentum going. Busy is good, it keeps the creativity flowing.
