Exclusive Q & A With Kevin Ploth

Q: As an actor, director, and writer, what would you say drives or inspires you to become the best at your profession?

Kevin Ploth – A: What drives me is people, life, and the experiences I have had with them, be it good or bad. I find being worldly and lived helps versus being closed and untraveled (meaning not engaging or being above others, having airs). I find connecting to people and really diving in wherever I go yields the best story and outcome.

Q: What genre of films are you most drawn to?

Kevin Ploth – A: Drama, Comedy, Horror, Thrillers, True Crime, Documentaries, Historical/History, Science Fiction, I love my Westerns and Food shows…have to have the classics and Laurel & Hardy.

Q: Can you share any specific film projects you’ve recently wrapped or are coming up ?

Kevin Ploth – A: We have THE GIANT in pre-production, plus we finished three projects in under four months. THIS STITCHING WILL LAST is our first documentary about Michael Braun, filmed by Larry Gress (my go-to DP) and edited by David Diaz (my go-to editor). Then we did two shorts, SHADOW DOCKET, filmed and edited by Ed Trucco.

DINER OF DARKNESS was filmed by Larry Gress and edited by both Ed Trucco and David Diaz. As of now, all three have won awards as well as laurels.

The “We” Before the “Me”: A Collaborative Philosophy
