EXCLUSIVE: Get To Know Actor and Producer of JTC Films – John Campanile!

John Campanile is an actor and producer with JTC Films, bringing his experience in film production and acting to the entertainment industry. Read below our exclusive Q&A as John Campanile discusses his latest projects, his journey in the industry, confirms film projects, and more!

Q: Where are you originally from, and where are you based now?

John Campanile – A: I was born in Chicago, but at one and a half years old, I moved to Italy, where I stayed until I was almost 21. I moved back here to Chicago in 1993 and have been here ever since.

Q: As an Award-Winning Actor, what motivates and inspires you to be your best, and how did you fall in love with acting?

John Campanile – A: I started in 2011. I was asked by a friend to be a background actor in one scene in a gangster film, and that turned into saying lines because the Director liked my Italian accent.

Then my buddy Al Marchesi suggested that I go to acting school, and I did! I went for two years to John Casablanca in Oak Brook, IL. My acting coach was the award-winning Director Jon Ross, and my modeling coach was Ashley Oh.

What inspired and motivated me was the support that I fortunately had around me, and that helped grow my passion every single day. I love being on set and in front of the camera.

In 2013, I launched JTC Films, my independent film company. Our multi-award-winning films include Between Left and Right, by Italian writer/director Simone Terranova, and Gralloch, by writer/director Michael Ramova, in association with RedVolver Studios, which also received a Bronze Telly Award.

Q: What is your favorite genre in roles you play (Drama, Comedy, Action, Thriller, or a little bit of all)?

John Campanile – A: I always get cast for a gangster role, but Thriller, Horror, and Drama are what I love to be part of. But one role that has been in my mind for a while, and that I’m working on, is a role in a mental health/illness genre film.

Q: Can you share with us something people may not know about you? Any hobbies or other talents you have and/or like to do in your spare time?

John Campanile – A: In my spare time, I love to be with my family.We have a 7-year-old son, Cello, who is amazing. I also ride my Harley, smoke cigars, and participate in acting classes so I can continue to better my acting career.

Q: What are some projects that you’ve just wrapped up recently or that you’re currently working on?

John Campanile – A: I recently wrapped a gangster role in a film comedy by Chicago indie filmmaker Will Adams.

I’m working with my team, Simone Terranova, Eliana Manvati, and our new family member, EP/Actor John Castilla, on making, by next year, a feature film based on our multi-award-winning short film Between Left and Right, which will be filmed in Italy and here in Chicago.

Also in the works, I have already written the first of 8 episodes with my writer/director Simone Terranova. It is also a gangster series that will be filmed here in Chicago and the surrounding areas.
