Q: Where are you originally from and where are you based now?

Lonny Presman – A: I was born and raised in Jerusalem and am now based in Los Angeles, California.
Q: Rising in the industry, what motivates and inspires you to be the best at your profession in acting and do you have a top 3 favorite actors, filmmakers, or directors that you want to work with in the business?

Lonny Presman – A: What motivates me most is the power of storytelling. I believe stories can genuinely change people’s lives, making them reflect, question, and sometimes even take a different path. That possibility inspires me to give everything I have to my craft. On a personal level, my father, who is also an artist, has been my biggest inspiration. Growing up around his creativity instilled in me a deep respect for the discipline and vulnerability that art requires. As for the filmmakers I’d love to work with, Tom Hardy is at the top because of the way he completely disappears into a role; I often forget I’m watching Tom when he’s on screen. Jordan Peele inspires me with the way he blends genre filmmaking with sharp social commentary, and I’d love the chance to collaborate with him. And above all, Quentin Tarantino has been a dream director for me. His storytelling, dialogue, and energy on screen shaped my love for cinema, and one of his films is my all-time favorite.
Q: What is your favorite genre in roles you play (Drama, Comedy, Action, Thriller, a little bit of all)?

Lonny Presman – A: There are so many stories I want to be part of, and each one calls for its own genre, so I truly enjoy exploring a bit of everything. That said, comedies and thrillers excite me because they keep me fully engaged and make my eyes widen the most.

Q: Can you share with us something people may not know about you? Any hobbies or other talents you have and or like to do in your spare time?

Lonny Presman – A: Ever since I was a kid, I wanted to be a magician. I have always been fascinated by illusion, which is probably why filmmaking feels like such a natural path for me. In my free time, I love picking up new magic tricks and trying them out on family and friends. It always gets a laugh or a look of surprise, and on set it has become one of my favorite ways to break the ice and keep the energy fun.
Q: What are some projects that you’ve just wrapped up recently or that you’re currently working on?

Lonny Presman – A: I just wrapped a thriller episode where I play Max, a young teenager who cracks jokes in moments of fear. I can’t share too much about it yet, but I am really excited for people to see it.

At the same time, I am producing a dark comedy short about a bus hijacking, which has been such a unique project to be part of. And on top of that, I recently completed submitting my UCLA thesis film to festivals, and I am eager to see where it might go.
