Case Matthews is an American Actor. Case has appeared in TV-Series and Film. He is on board giving his best in the film industry and it is certainly becoming a success! Case recently starred in a film with Emmy Award-Winning Actress Shailene Woodley and he has some great projects confirmed! Read our exclusive interview below with Actor Case Matthews:
Q: Where are you originally from and where are you currently located?
Case Matthews – A: I am originally from sunny San Diego, California but made the move to New Mexico roughly 15 years ago. When I first arrived, I lived in a ski and snowboard resort town called Angel Fire in the northern portion of the state. After getting my fill of living the snowboarder’s dream and my film career started taking off, I made the move to Albuquerque and that is where I reside now.
Q: Case, you are a talented actor rising in the film industry, what inspires you to be your best at your profession and Do you have a top 3 selection of favorite actors, filmmakers or directors that you admire and want to work with in the business?
Case Matthews – A: What inspires me? Man. Just a love of acting, I’d say. It doesn’t take much inspiration to give 100% to a career or art form that you truly love and look forward to doing every day. Just the ability and opportunity to practice my craft is it’s own reward. As for the top three people in the industry that I’d like to work with…. I gotta say. I LOVE Martin Scorsese’s mobster flicks. I mean, absolutely adore them. Casino, Goodfellas, The Departed… That being said, I’d love to work with Mr. Scorsese and I’d also jump at the chance to work with Robert DeNiro and Joe Pesci.
Q: You have an amazing look for action films! As an actor, what would you say is your fav genre in roles you play ( Drama, Comedy, Action, a little bit of all)?
Case Matthews – A: Favorite genre to play…. I definitely have a soft spot for drama and action films… Gritty kind of noir films, just about anything that gives me an opportunity to flex my acting muscles.
Q: You’ve been cast in ‘Better Call Saul’ and ‘Robots’, can you explain a little about your roles ?
Case Matthews – A: Yes! I play a law enforcement officer in Robots named Officer Bishop. He’s a real intense kind of “hard ass” character. As for Better Call Saul! Season 6 has not aired yet so I can’t say much BUT I can say that I have a starring role as a character named Keith in Season 6 and I feel honored to have been able to work with Bob Odenkirk, Patrick Fabian, Johnathan Banks, Giancarlo Esposito and the rest of the cast. It was such an amazing experience and every single person on the cast and crew was just incredibly supportive and positive throughout. Getting the opportunity to work with Vince Gilligan was an experience I will never forget. I mean, how often do you get the opportunity to work with the writer, director and producer of The X-Files AS WELL as the creator of the Breaking Bad universe…. And just to get the opportunity to be a part of that Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul universe is an honor to say the least.
Q: How was your experience on set filming Robots and working directly with Jack Whitehall and Emmy Award winning actress Shailene Woodley?
Case Matthews – A: Absolutely amazing. Jack Whitehall is such a talented and natural comedian that just sharing a scene with him was totally electric. And Shailene? What a genuine class act. So kind and supportive and just a total blast to work with. As for the director, Anthony Hines… He really made an impression on me on set because it was clear that he was having FUN directing this movie.. I mean, genuinely enjoying himself. I thought that was amazing and it made for such a positive atmosphere. Totally loved it.
Q: Share with us something people may not know about you . What hobbies or other secret talents do you have and or like to do in your spare time aside from filmmaking ?
Case Matthews – A: Besides acting? I am also a professional audiobook narrator and aside from that I can tell you that I LOVE to longboard. Bombing big ass hills gets my adrenaline up and reminds me that I am alive. I also mentioned that I am an enthusiastic and, might I say, talented snowboarder. I also like to go on surf trips whenever I am back in San Diego. I am also very much into music and I like digging through local record stores and adding to my vinyl record collection when I get the opportunity. At the end of the day I enjoy walking my Weimaraner named William Elvis and spending time with my family.
