We recently had an interview with Jutta where she also confirms new projects in the works! Read below our exclusive Q & A with Actress Jutta Charbonnier to find out the latest and more!
Q: Where are you originally from and where are you located now on the map?

Jutta Charbonnier -A: I’m half French, half German! I was born and raised in France, in a small town called Grenoble surrounded by 3 mountains. My dad is German, so I grew up speaking both languages. We used to go to Germany for every vacation to visit my family and enjoy a couple of beers! Two and a half years ago, I moved to LA. I always wanted to live there, and I had the chance to make my dreams come true! I remember the first time I landed, and I could see the entire city. I instantly knew that California would become my second home!
Q: As a rising actress, what motivates you and inspires you to be the best at your profession, and what do you love most about acting?

Jutta Charbonnier -A: To me, acting is a profession where you can constantly get better. No matter at what stage you are in your career, you can always improve your skills, learn a new dialect, diversify your range, or learn more about something.
I have such a thirst for learning that I’m always willing and wanting to discover new things. One day you can be a lawyer and the other day a gangster. You have to learn about the world, profession, and story of your character to play them. You can never get bored!

I could not see myself being anything else than an actor. It’s the only profession that I know I will still be happy to work in until I’m physically not able to anymore. I stay motivated because I want to be proud of myself and what I accomplished. I came from a long way, had to make a lot of sacrifices, and I’m for sure not ready to quit! I also want to make my parents proud. They’re a big fan of cinema, and seeing their daughter on a screen would definitely be a dream for them!
Q: Do you have a top 3 favorite actors, filmmakers, or directors that you are most inspired by and want to work with in the business?

Jutta Charbonnier -A: When I think of my favorite actor, I have to say Andrew Lincoln! He played Rick on The Walking Dead, who’s such a big inspiration for me (I know it might sound weird haha). He is such a force of nature and brought Rick to life in the most amazing way. I couldn’t see anyone else play this role! The way he’s able to fully become the character really impresses me.
My favorite director is Ridley Scott. After the masterpiece that Alien is, I completely fell in love with his work. But I have to say I am also a big fan of Quentin Tarantino. Django and Pulp Fiction are definitely up there on my list!
Another actor that I really resonate with and that I admire is Christoph Waltz. His versatility, charisma, and acting ability are so inspiring to me. When he is on screen, I’m completely mesmerized by his presence. And he is German, like me haha! The fact that he is able to act perfectly in English, German, and French is a true source of inspiration and admiration for me.
Q: What would you say is your favorite genre in roles to play (drama, comedy, crime, action, or a little bit of all)?

Jutta Charbonnier -A: That is such a hard question! The boring answer is that I love all of them haha. But it’s true; I think you need a bit of everything. However, if I really had to choose, I would probably go with horror or thriller. It’s always my go-to when I don’t know what to watch, and I always like to play characters who go through an intense situation because it’s really interesting to see how a person can react in a difficult or uncommon environment. You can see their deepest fear or strength, which I find particularly fascinating to study.

Q: Can you share with us something people may not know about you? Any hobbies or other secret talents you have and/or like to do in your spare time?

Jutta Charbonnier -A: I’ve been an equestrian since I was 4, but I think pretty much everyone around me knows that because I keep talking about my horses haha! However, I think not many people know that I have a real passion for video games. I have played GTA 5, Alien Isolation, and Until Dawn for so many hours when I was younger. I’m a big fan of the Dark Pictures. I find the fact that your choices affect the story of the game extremely interesting. But I have to admit, I also played a lot of Animal Crossing. That’s probably one of my favorite Nintendo DS video games ever. You should see my little city; you’d be amazed!
Q: What are some projects that you’ve just wrapped up recently or that you’re currently working on now?

Jutta Charbonnier -A: I’m currently working on a very interesting project. I can’t say too much about it, but I’ll try to sell it as best as I can! It’s a sort of platform/video game that provides music and gives artists a chance to perform on a virtual stage in a virtual world. There is also a story side of it, in which various characters interact with each other. There is a lot of comedy but also beautiful and deep, meaningful scenes. My character goes through a very interesting journey from being a “normal” person to a reporter traveling this virtual world! I added some of my own expressions to make her really special!

The last project I absolutely loved being on, which wrapped recently, was a psychological thriller. I had a small role, but the experience with the crew and the main actors was incredible. I have a funny story about it: I played a mystery presence, and I had to appear surrounded by smoke. However, the smoke machine was right next to me, so I kept coughing and tried to hold it as best as I could during the takes haha. I could barely see anything in my costume. It really felt like I was the scariest demon in the world haha.
