Q: Where are you originally from and where are you located now on the map?
Yovani Rodarte – A: I’m originally from Glendale, California and I currently live in Downey, CA.
Q: What motivates and inspires you to be the best at your profession and what do you love most about film?
Yovani Rodarte – A: My twin brother, because he’s a professional boxer. Knowing what he does is tough and dangerous uplifts me to thrive in this business. Seeing my favorite actors on-screen is what inspires me and reminds me how fun and exciting this profession is. You never stop learning and growing as an actor. The freedom and escapism that each role gives me is what I love about film. Researching about the background of my character brings out the creativity in me, and I love expressing it on camera.
Q: Do you have a top 3 favorite actors, filmmakers, or directors you want to work with in the business?
Yovani Rodarte – A: My favorite actors I would want to work with in this business are Keanu Reeves, Tom Hardy, and Diesel.
Q: What would you say is your fav genre in roles you play( Drama, Comedy, Crime, Action, a little bit of all) ?
Yovani Rodarte – A: My favorite genre of roles I would play is a bit of all. I enjoy getting out of my comfort zone because it lets me identify whether it fits best for me or not. If you don’t try, you’ll never know what you’re capable of.
Q: Can you share with us something people may not know about you? Any hobbies or other secret talents you have and or like to do in your spare time ?
Yovani Rodarte – A: I played in sports such as basketball, baseball, and soccer. I was in karate for two years before I decided to take up boxing. I boxed for 20 years. I boxed as an amateur and a professional fighter and learned a lot inside of the ring and out in general. I’m thankful for it because it’s completely changed my life in a positive way.
Q: What are some projects that you’ve just wrapped up recently or that you’re currently working on now?
Yovani Rodarte – A: I was an extra in a Hip hop music video which came out five years ago. The name of the song is called “Suena” by Akwid. I remember being on set like it was just yesterday because I had a fun and exciting time on set. Check their music video out on YouTube!
