Dana Jackson Dane is a multi-talented and ambitious actress in the film industry. At a young age, she has already carved a significant path for herself in the world of media, becoming the youngest woman news editor to have her writing featured in AP News and syndicated both nationally and regionally. Beyond her editorial work, she was considered for the prestigious Women Leaders in Media Program, highlighting her potential to become a future leader in the industry. Recently, Actress Dana Jackson was selected to participate in BWA’s 2024 Animation event, a program sponsored by industry giants like Titmouse, Netflix, and Disney Animation Television. Read below our exclusive Q & A with actress Dana Jackson, where she gives us an insider on her latest work in the film industry and more!

Q: Where are you originally from and where are you located now on the map?

Dana Jackson Dane – A: I was born and raised in Chicago and currently live in California.

Q: As a rising actress, what motivates you and inspires you to be the best at your profession, and what do you love most about acting?

Dana Jackson Dane – A: What inspires me to be the best in my profession is God and allowing God to direct my path. God gives me provision, comfort and leads me. I love to uplift and inspire others. Refreshing others through storytelling, something bigger than myself, is what always keeps me going, and by God’s grace. I have always been solution-oriented, agile and creative, and open to fresh ideas. I love how I am always learning something new in the industry. It works differently for each individual; for me, redirecting my focus helps to produce growth, and I never know how it will turn out. Success and challenge are the same path, not separate. Success is not final, and the challenges are not concrete. It is what you put into it, so there is no faking. There is a discipline and accountability that you cannot hide from, and I love that about acting.

Q: Do you have a top 3 favorite actors, filmmakers, or directors that you are most inspired by and want to work with in the business?

Dana Jackson Dane -A: I would love to play Kerry Washington’s daughter. I also admire Michael B. Jordan’s work and how he has honed his acting skills over the years, and I would love to work with Denzel Washington as well.

Q: What would you say is your favorite genre in roles to play (Drama, Comedy, Crime, Action, a little bit of all)?

Dana Jackson Dane -A: I love it all. I believe being seasoned in it all is great; it works for me.

Q: Can you share with us something people may not know about you? Any hobbies or other secret talents you have or like to do in your spare time?

Dana Jackson Dane -A: I am a singer; I grew up singing in the church. I am also the youngest woman to be featured in AP Associated Press, when I was editor about my writing and staff, when I was in college. I also just recently self-published and Children’s Handwriting and Coloring book.

Q: What are some projects that you’ve just wrapped up recently or that you’re currently working on now?

Dana Jackson Dane -A: I was just blessed to star in my first role in an award-winning documentary film, How Do You Hear God? that recently just premiered in New York and California. In addition, I have also shared the TV screen with Colin Farrell.
