INTERVIEW 2021 WITH CHARISMA :
Q: Where are you originally from and where are you located now on the map?
Charisma – A: I am originally from San Diego and I’m currently living in Los Angeles, California.
Q: What led you or inspired you to become a professional make up artist?
Charisma – A: Honestly I loved watching my mom put on her make up in the morning before work and seeing how it transformed her whole mood, that really inspired me to try different colors. At a young age she told me I couldn’t wear make up so of course being the rebel that I am, I didn’t listen to her and was always wearing make up. I was the only girl in middle school wearing full glam.
Q: What are some people that you’ve worked with already in the industry and do you have a fav Celeb you’d like to collaborate with?
Charisma – A: I’m Coi Leray’s makeup artist, I’ve worked with Megan thee Stallion, I did Sukiana for her appearance in the WAP music video, BJRNCK, I’ve worked with Felicia Day, Alyson stoner Ruby Rose and jason Mitchell just to name a few. A fav celeb I would love to collab would have to be Nicki Minaj! We share the exact same birthday, so it’s safe to say I’m a barb! I also would absolutely love to glam Ariana Grande, I’m also a huge fan of Erykah Badu, Summer Walker and Doja cat. I’m a huge music lover and these women embody the ultimate feminist vibe.
Q: Charisma, give us some expert make up trends for this summer!
Charisma – A: First I wanna say that less is more. Second when in doubt bronze it out and bronze bronze bronze. Third always make sure your lipgloss is popping. Moisturize and hydrate and never leave your house without a little blush or a little lash.
Q: Can you share with us something people may not know about you? Any hobbies or other secret talents you have and or like to do in your spare time aside from makeup?
Charisma – A: I’m a former mathlette and my grandma and aunt were English teachers. My favorite subjects in school were math and English so I’m super analytical and artistic. Which is really rare. I have a secret talent of being an entertainer, I can make everyone around me laugh so I’m a natural born comedian. I’ve currently taken up acting classes during quarantine and who knows you might see Charisma come from behind the scenes and onto your screen.
Q: What are some projects that you’ve just wrapped up recently or that you’re currently working on now?
Charisma – A: So I’ve recently wrapped up eight Music Videos with Coi Leray, I’m her key makeup artist so Coi keeps me pretty busy. I recently just did the her makeup for the freshman XXL MAGAZINE COVER that just dropped. I’m currently working on my make-up line and I’m also doing the BET awards for the second time in a row this year. I recently founded my own company “Color by Charisma”, more announcements are coming soon!

Charisma – A: I’m currently finishing my website I have a lot of special things that I am working on.
