He also is amazingly skilled doing his own stunts & combat! Murray’s certainly has a lot of things coming your way, remember to follow him on his social sites and check out our exclusive interview with actor Murray Urquhart below:
Q: Where are your originally from and where are you located now on the map?
Murray U- A: I am from Newfoundland originally (East coast Canada), but now live in Toronto. Eventually I will be making a permanent move to the US, wait till everything in the world cools off a bit. 2020 has thrown quite the curve ball.
Q: Murray, you’ve been booked in some of the most popular TV Series like Reign to Bad Blood, as well as on Inhuman Condition and Rogue! What motivates you and inspires you to be the best at your profession and do you have a top 3 favorite actors, filmmakers or directors that you want to work with in the business?
Murray U- A: To start, I’ll give you 3 of my fav actors, ones that inspire me, Tom Hardy, Idris Elba, and Bryan Cranston. As for directors, I’d go with Christopher Nolan, David Fincher, and this upcoming director Greg Elliot. There’s a lot of talent and skill out there, so my list could be much longer, I would love to work with anyone and anybody.
Q: As an actor what would you say is your fav genre in roles you play( Drama, Comedy, Action, a little bit of all) ?
Murray U- A: At the risk of sounding generic, I like a bit of everything if I’m being honest.
I go through phases like the moon, sometimes. I want drama.
Other times, I just want mindless action, not saying those two are mutually exclusive.
Q: While you may not need a ‘Body double’ , it safe say that not many actors can actually do their own stunts! What are some of the coolest things that you can do in stunts?
Murray U- A: Pretty much anything required, from basic combat such as hand to hand, weapons such as swords, and firearms. I do all the falls, stunt driving, and I am trained in fire burns (lighting oneself on fire). There was a point I was seriously considering making a career out of stunt work, but realized that wasn’t what truly wanted, I have big love for the stunt people.
Q: Can you share with us something people may not know about you? Any hobbies or other secret talents you have and or like to do in your spare time aside from acting?
Murray U- A: I jump rope like a madman, and usually ripping the countryside on my motorcycle. I’m big into meditation, mindfulness, gym, running, Muay Thai, and reading. I also continue to take acting lessons and singing lessons as well, always work to be done.
Q: What are some projects you’ve just wrapped up or that you’re currently working on now?
Murray U- A: Currently there’s a few things in the works, but its in pre-production and they don’t want me talking lol. 2020 being such a strange one that it is, it’s been auditions over Zoom, and a lot more self tapes, which is great, being able to audition from your home is not a bad, especially with self tapes because you can do as many takes as you like.
Q: What are your official social sites on the web we can follow ?
