Rising Star Exclusive: Get to Know Actor Tesfa King!

Tesfa ‘T.K. ‘ King is professional Actor with a rising career in entertainment! He has been booked in music videos and films such as ‘Hustlers’ featuring J.LO to showcasing an amazing performance in drama. Read below our exclusive interview with Actor Tesfa King:

Q: Where are you originally from and where are you current located now ?

Tesfa King – A: I was born in Brooklyn, NY, and raised in Staten Island, NY. I currently live in West Harlem.

Q: Tesfa , you are a rising star in the film industry already starring in many featured films and music videos , How did you get started in the entertainment industry?

Tesfa King – A: I always desired to be a Actor-Artist and while I was driving tractor trailers cross country 5 years ago I had a realization and right there I realized I would never be happy unless I followed what my mind body and soul was telling me and it was saying if do not quit my job and chase my dream I will never find happiness so I quit my job and it was scary at first, its still a little scary now but when you love what you are doing you cannot put a price on that so I made a Backstage account and started auditioning for various roles and my first job I played a neurotic director on a music video and to this day I can actually say that I love what I do.

Q: Do you have a top 3 selection of favorite actors, filmmakers or directors that you admire and want to work with in the business?

Tesfa King – A: My favorite 3 actors I have to say is the Big 3 and that is led by Denzel Washington, AL Pacino and Robert De Niro. To work with any of those 3 would be a dream you want to keep repeating over and over and if it is directed by Spike Lee or Quinton Tarantino it is a master piece that every actor would want to be a part of.

Q: As an actor, what would you say is your fav genre in roles you play( Drama, Comedy,Action, a little bit of all) ?

Tesfa King – A: I have to say Drama is my favorite because you never know what emotion or feeling will come out of you and a role can bring up a situation from your past that you never dealt with but you can leave it all on that production set or stage.

The definition of Drama is an exciting, emotional, or unexpected series of events or set of circumstances and that brings out the best in actors so as much as I love action and comedy I prefer drama.

Q: Share with us something people may not know about you . What hobbies or other secret talents you have and or like to do in your spare time aside from film making ?

Tesfa King – A: In my spare time or shall I say every morning I like to work out for a few hours a day and as I said earlier I drove tractor trailers cross country and in N.Y. I enjoy playing basketball, watching films and listening to different genres of music from Classical , Hip Hop, doo-wop, Jazz, blues, R&b etc.. and reading poetry, I use to write poetry many years ago but as of late I am feeling the urge to start writing again. I love reading! I am the oldest out of 8 children. I maintain a healthy diet daily but every once in the while like most I get a craven for pizza.

Q: Do you have any new or recently finished projects that you can share with us?

Tesfa King – A: My latest projects are Fresh Out, Hilo 2 and Souls of Men. Hilo 2 is on Amazon Prime and Souls of Men will be released in the fall/winter and Fresh Out is in Post Production.
