Q: Where are you originally from and where are you located now on the map?
Gordon Hyppolite – A: Though I am originally from Brooklyn, New York, I am of Haitian descent. My family came from Haiti and I was born in New York. I currently live in Japan and have been living here for around 12 years.
Q: Gordon, you are a talented artist and actor rising in the film industry, what would you say motivates you and inspires you to be the best at your profession and do you have a top 3 favorite actors, filmmakers or directors that you want to work with in the business?
Gordon Hyppolite – A:Wow, such a loaded question. To be honest, hope motivates me. Without hope, it’s difficult to do anything really. It has always been my hope that as I put my best foot forward someone would hopefully take interest in me and give me a chance. I hope to inspire others as they see my performance whether it be on stage or on screen. Actually I do have my top 3 actors that it would be a dream to work with. I would love to work with Denzel Washington, Keanu Reeves, or Johnny Depp, but there are so many others I’d love to work with, like Samuel L Jackson, and Jackie Chan. I don’t have a particular director in mind. There are so many good ones out there and it’s really difficult to choose. What stands out to me are the actor’s performances as they deliver the director’s vision. But if I could choose one, I’d love to work with Ryan Coogler.
Q: As an actor, What would you say is your fav genre in roles you play( Drama, Comedy,Action, a little bit of all) ?
Gordon Hyppolite – A: A little bit of all. There are so many genres that I’d love to try out, especially action or martial arts. I’ve studied Wing Chun for a few years.
Q: Can you share with us something people may not know about you? Any hobbies or other secret talents you have and or like to do in your spare time?
Gordon Hyppolite – A: In my spare time, I love composing music. No matter how great a movie may be, the soundtrack definitely plays a major role. I just finished watching the ‘Wakanda Forever’ trailer and I just had goosebumps all over and was holding back tears. It was so beautifully done and that new rendition of Bob Marley’s No woman no cry was perfect!
Q: What are some projects that you’ve just wrapped up recently or that you’re currently working on now?
Gordon Hyppolite – A:: Recently with Covid, I haven’t had many opportunities. I’m also located in Japan which may be a little difficult to be scouted. I hope through this article release more would be curious in me and opportunities would come.
