Omarr Salgado is an multi-dimensional actor, musical artist, and producer. Omarr is co-founder of Fast Forward Films and Head of Acquisition at Dame Dash Studios! He has great projects in the works that include starring and producing quality films in the industry. Read below our exclusive interview with Omarr Salgado!

Q: Where are you originally from and where are you located now on the map?

Omarr Salgado – A: I was born in Puerto Rico and moved to New York City, to the Bronx, in the mid-70’s.

Q: Omarr, you are respected in the industry as a rising actor and being the Head of Acquisition for Dame Dash Studios! What would you say motivates you and inspires you to be the best at your profession and do you have a top 3 favorite actors, filmmakers or directors that you want to work with in the business?

Omarr Salgado – A:My passion for acting comes from my passion to create. I’ve always been an artist and involved in the entertainment industry, and as a result, the process of creating is what I love most. Witnessing an idea come to fruition is the greatest feeling in the world. Especially when you put in the hard work to make it happen. As Head of Acquisitions for Dame Dash Studios, I have the privilege of working with so many artists. From actors to writers, directors, producers, and executives. Dame Dash has supported my growth and given me a relevant voice in the film industry. I understand my position as Head of Acquisitions and the impact I have on the creatives I work with. I am proud to provide the services of digital distribution, licensing, and theatrical, especially to independent filmmakers. I feel blessed to be a part of their process to the next level.

Top favorite actors are Sydney Poitier, Denzel Washington, and Regina King.

Top favorite filmmakers are Martin Scorsese, Ava DuVernay, and John Singleton.

Q: What would you say is your fav genre in film ( Drama, Comedy,Action, a little bit of all) ?

Omarr Salgado – A: I love Drama and Action. I also love documentary style films.

Q: Can you share with us something people may not know about you? Any hobbies or other secret talents you have and or like to do in your spare time?

Omarr Salgado – A: Outside of my love for film, I am also a music artist in the Hip Hop genre. In the late 80’s and early 90’s, I pursued a career in music. During that run, I had the privilege to work with several artists such as Naughty by Nature, Lords of the Underground, Main Source, and Trends of Culture. The 20 years plus of various music influences has given me a wealth of knowledge and relationships that has carried down to what I currently do in film.

Q: What are some projects that you’ve just wrapped up recently or that you’re currently working on now?

Omarr Salgado – A: I recently launched my own film production company, called Fast Forward Films. Fast Forward Films is a global media and film production company focused and committed to bringing the best in documentary, episodic, and full feature films. I also wrapped up a film called Sweet Burn. Written by Willie Coggins and starring Geri White, Renèe Henry and myself Omarr A Salgado. The film is set to release in early 2023. I’m also the Co-Founder and Owner of a new streaming platform called FFICTV. FFICTV started in June of 2021. You can access our channel on Roku and Amazon Fire stick.
