Where are you originally from and where are you based now?
Allan Smith – A: I am originally from New York City, New York and I am currently based in Los Angeles, California!
Allan, you are rising in the industry. What motivates you and inspires you to be the best at your profession in acting, and do you have a top 3 favorite actors, filmmakers, or directors that you want to work with in the business?
Allan Smith – A: What motivates me and inspires me to be the best at my profession in acting is the sheer learning curve of it all. Every day, I am taking in new information that I feel I can use for a character or for a role in the future. Or something I can put into my work presently. There’s just so much I don’t know about my own profession! It makes me feel like a student that is always learning my craft, and I crave that challenge. I crave challenges in general because they push me to be my best self. My top 3 actors, filmmakers, and directors I want to work with in this business are Will Smith, Michael B. Jordan, and Christopher Nolan.
As an actor, what would you say is your fav genre in roles you play (Drama, Comedy, Action, Thriller, a little bit of all)?
Allan Smith – A: As an actor, I would say my favorite genre in roles I play are comedy and drama. I would say comedy comes naturally for me, but I love dramatic energy in movies and tv shows. Being able to put yourself in another’s shoes and put on a show is something I love to watch on the screen as well as perform. I am also a horror fan fanatic as well, I love the vulnerability of the acting in those kind of movies, and its always been challenging (in a good way!) for me as an actor to bring on that kind of performance.
Can you share with us something people may not know about you? Any hobbies or other secret talents you have or like to do in your spare time?
Allan Smith – A: I actually love boxing and anime. Fun combination, I know. I feel like anime just has so many good themes to learn from in life, and I enjoy how “out-there” the performances are. They really put in effort into their voice acting. As for boxing, I love the sweet science of learning the sport. I enjoyed going to Rumble and Grit X Bxng back when I was living in New York City. It really was a fun gym with lights and it helps me stay fit and in shape while the music and the energy of my peers keep me entertained throughout my workout.
What are some projects that you’ve just wrapped up recently or that you’re currently working on?
Allan Smith – A: Recently, I wrapped up the HBO movie ‘Reality’ with the Star Sydney Sweeney, and I have a new movie in the works titled “A Different Man”
with Sebastian Stan. One of my acting reels are going to be featured on Roku and Amazon Fire TV. I have a lot of comedy in the works and clips are always being posted on my Instagram channel as well.
