Woonyea – A: My motivation for acting comes from enjoying the process of acting from start to finish. From meeting the character for the first time in the script to then using my imagination to study and analyze the character enjoy making connections with all my co-workers on the set to getting lost in the moment acting! There isn’t a moment that goes by that I do not appreciate the beauty of this industry.

Q: Do you have a top 3 favorite actors, filmmakers, or directors that you want to work with in the business?

woonyea

Woonyea – A: My favorite actresses are Meryl Streep, Kate Winslet, and Marion Cotillard. I respect them for their ability to draw from deeply emotional places and bring them out on the screen. As far as directors go, I appreciate the work of Bong Joon-ho from Parasite well as Lee Changdong who is known for Secret Sunshine and Burning. But I most recommend his film, Oasis. It is a masterpiece. Lastly, I am a big fan of Tarantino. It would be fun to become a unique and charming Asian character one day similar to Pulp Fiction’s Uma Thurman!

Q: As an actress, what would you say is your fav genre in roles you play( Drama, Comedy,Crime, Action, a little bit of all) and is there anything you want to expand more?

woonyea

Woonyea – A: I am definitely most confident in drama characters who need to exhibit deep emotion. However, I do have a background in modern dance, so physically, I am flexible and agile. I think one day my skills from dancing could open the door to action films that require a bit more
physical work. In the future, I would like to expand into comedy. I’m a quiet person on the
outside but my friends who know me know that I love to get silly. Comedy would show the
world that side of me.

Woonyea – A: Since childhood, I have been drawn to the arts. Reading, writing, drawing, daydreaming. Using my imagination to create. That’s why the film industry is where I am right now. My eye for the arts extended outside of the film industry. For example, I have done curating. Lastly, I am a foodie. I love trying new cuisines and staying up to date with the culinary scene.

Q: What are some projects that you’ve just wrapped up recently or that you’re currently working on now?

woonyea

It’s a metaphor about Covids brutality. My upcoming project is a voiceover role for a stop motion animation. We are currently in the development stage.
