Q: Where are you originally from and where are you based now on the map?

Erin Gray – A: I am originally from Sydney, Australia, and am now based in Los Angeles. I have lived out here for over 8 years now 🙂

Q: Erin, you are a multi-talented in the arts being a professional actress, model, and pro dancer with over 15 years of experience in the industry which is amazing! What do you love most about acting ( auditions, preparation, performing, final premier, all of it) and what would you say really motivates you and inspires you to be the best at your profession?

Erin Gray – A: Well I truthfully love Acting auditions, because each script introduces me into a new character that I get to rehearse and then become for that short time. It’s a challenge I’m always willing to accept 😉 Self-tapes have become my new favorite thing for acting auditions because I feel like I can get more creative in my space and also be able to watch the tape back myself and see where I can improve or add more/less. Whenever I book a job off my auditions, I feel so accomplished. I love being on set, meeting different people and creatives, going through lines, and bringing the production to life. It’s a very fulfilling experience when you are passionate about what you do!

As for Dancing, these Auditions are a completely different experience, but I always love going out there and doing the best I can no matter what the outcome. It’s inspiring watching so many dancers dancing their hearts out in one room! Having so much talent and high energy around you only pushes you harder.

Erin Gray at Universal Music Latin Entertainment Awards

There is such a big rush of adrenaline when you perform on stage as a Dancer. The crowd is watching you and relying on you to make them feel something with your movements to the music, so to be able to do that is a true gift and a feeling I can’t even begin to explain. I feel very honored for the all experiences I have had in my career so far and only looking forward to more.

What motivates me is my passion for it. The way it makes me feel when I book a job and am on set or on stage, surrounded by other creatives who all share the same love for what they do. I have always loved being in front of the camera, and what motivates me to keep pushing in this career is knowing that whoever is watching is going to laugh, cry, or be inspired.

Q: Do you have a top fav 3 selection of people in the entertainment industry ( filmmakers, producers, directors, actors ) you admire and that you want to work with with in the future ?

Erin Gray

Erin Gray – A: Honestly there are so many Directors/Producers & Actors that inspire me and I would love to work with, but let me start with, Nicole Kidman. Not only because she’s a fellow Aussie, but because she seems like an incredible human who can take on literally any role and is incredible at it. She is a hard worker and I have always watched and loved her work. Paul Feig (Director of Bridesmaids)I mean to start with Bridesmaids is downright brilliant. I love comedy and this movie made all these characters so relatable to many of its audience, which is why it is still one of the funniest movies to this day. I definitely found Kristen Wig’s character extremely relatable and when I watched it, I thought not myself “that should be me” :). Paul seems like he would be an incredible director to work for and I love his films. Also Ben Stiller… Why? Because I feel like we would laugh the whole time. Everything he is in has had me in stitches and being one who absolutely loves comedy and loves to make people laugh, I know we would get along and work really well together :D. I’m also a fan of Daniel Levy and his work with Schitt’s Creek. That was one of my favorite shows and nightly addictions!

Q: Would you prefer being a series regular or in a featured film and what is your favorite genre in terms of roles do you usually go for( drama, comedy, crime, a little bit of all)?

Erin Gray – A: Truthfully I don’t have a preference, I want to do both as they will bring me different experiences on set. Comedy and Drama are my favorites 🙂

Q: Do you have any new or recently finished projects you can share with us?

Erin Gray – A: Yes, I just finished filming a feature film called ‘SWAP’ by director Dallas King & Producer Michelle Ng. I play one of the leads ‘Glory’. The movie is a mix of drama, sex, comedy, lust and… a Thriller. I won’t reveal too much 😉 . I also recently shot a comedy ‘High & Tight’ written by Alex Tse (Wu Tang/Watchmen) and Chris Marrs (Arrested Development). I played the girlfriend of Actor: Sung Kang (Fast & the Furious). Can’t wait for you to see this one ;)And lastly, I recently finished filming a Short Film called ‘Weightless’, where I played the lead role ‘Leela’. The film is about a girl who suffers from Anorexia and the thoughts that go through her head. Most of the film is spoken from the thoughts in her head, as well as there being dialogue. Written and Directed by Diana Diaz.

Q: Can you tell us something we may not know about you? Any hobbies, passions or other secret talents you have and or like to do in your spare time ?

Erin Gray – A: Well aside from also being a professional dancer/choreographer, I am in a Synchronized Swimming performance team out here called the ‘Aqualillies’ in LA. We dance and swim and perform all around the States. I am a certified Yoga Instructor, as well as an experienced dance instructor. I also train/have trained in Aerial/Appartus’s such as Spanish Web, Hoop, Harness work, and Sway Pole. I am always up for a challenge 😉 .I have modeled since the age of 8 after my Mom put me in a modeling agency back in Sydney. I still work as a model when opportunities come along.
