Q: Where are you originally from and where are you located now on the map?

lawrence meyler

Lawrence Meyler – A:  Originally I’m from where I am now, which is sort of crazy. I was born here, in Los Angeles. Shortly after, my family moved around Eastern Europe, later I studied in England, and now I’m finally back!

Q:  Lawrence, what motivates and inspires you to be the best at your profession and what do you love most about film?

Lawrence Meyler – A:   What motivates me most are the possibilities of what I can explore in the realm of filmmaking, or what explorations I can be a part of. What I love about this industry is that every movie has a chance to show us something new, never seen before, whether it be genre, concept or camerawork.

Q: Do you have a top 3 favorite actors, filmmakers, or directors you want to work with in the business?

Lawrence Meyler – A: As for my top 3, Del Toro, Snyder and Rodriguez. Guillermo Del Toro could blend anything together a create a masterpiece, example, imagine a fairy tale and a war movie, that’s Pan’s Labyrinth. Zack Snyder can always strike with his camerawork and his vfx. While Robert Rodriguez always guarantees the viewer a fun time with any production he’s a part of, while also playing with the visuals largely, example, Sin City.

Q: Your previous film projects have been in various film genres! What would you say is your fav genre in roles( Drama, Comedy, Crime, Action, a little bit of all) ?

Lawrence Meyler – A:   My favorite genre would definitely have to be Sci-fi. I mean there are literally endless possibilities to explore. While most sci-fi rings Aliens and spaceships, it never has to be limited to that. Nowadays, we definitely explore that more with filmmakers like Alex Garland, making Ex Machina and Annihilation.

Q: Can you share with us something people may not know about you? Any hobbies or other secret talents you have and or like to do in your spare time ?

Lawrence Meyler – A:   I’m a big fan of hand-to-hand action, so I do tend to work in fight choreography department from time to time and train separately every day. After looking at the new Indonesian action flicks like “The Raid” series and “The Night Comes for Us,” I realized, choreography heavy movies are making a return, with long takes and power struggles in the fights themselves. I’m glad we’re able to make that mainstream with series like “John Wick.”

Q: What are some projects that you’ve just wrapped up recently or that you’re currently working on now?

Lawrence Meyler – A:  I’m currently finishing up the post production on “The Collective,”  a Mercenary short with a twist, as well as fresh off shooting “Babylon Blues,”  a murder mystery taking place in a city where technology moved on, but the people and their inner demons never did. It was a great shoot, a lot of highlights, especially seeing those demons come to life, shoutout to the makeup team!

Q: What are your official social sites on the web we can follow ?

Lawrence Meyler – A:   For now, my main platform would be instagram, that’s where I will post links to most of my content on other platforms too:
